Finding drug and alcohol addiction treatment in and around your area

It’s difficult to know where to start if you’re looking for addiction treatment in your area. We have provided a directory of rehabs, counselling services and support groups across the various counties in the UK.

With any recovery programme we recommend partaking in a support group like AA (Alcoholics Anonymous), they are free to join and provide long term support for those in recovery, helping individuals maintain sobriety and build long lasting friendships.

Do I have to choose a treatment service in my area?

Simply put, no. In some cases it may be prudent to explore treatment outside of your home county, away from any triggers that may cause you to relapse once you’ve made your decision to seek treatment. However those with family and work commitments may find it easier to seek treatment nearby, so it depends entirely on the individuals circumstances.

Who can I speak to if I need help finding a treatment plan?

Always start by talking to your GP, as they will be able to refer you to a number of NHS options if this is the route you decide to take. Furthermore, those with long term drug or alcohol addictions may find that a medical detox is appropriate to avoid any serious damage that may arise from quitting cold turkey. A GP may also provide medication to help with the withdrawal symptoms.
